Document Control Associate

Department: Document Control
Location: West Columbia, SC

 Document Control Associate 

Position Summary:

  • Maintain Standard Operation Procedures, change notes and documentation in accordance with cGMP while assisting as needed in any aspect of the Document Control System.
  • Assists with additional work duties or responsibilities as evident or required.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or apparent.
  • Clerical position that requires sitting for most of the day.

Primary Accountabilities:

  • Route new and revised  SOP’s using established procedures for Sharepoint and Trackwise system 
  • Update SOP binders whenever there is a new or updated version of a document (Production, QA, Test Methods, and Master Formula) 
  • Provide working copies to various departments as required for updates and revisions 
  • Update table of contents with current and approved SOPs and Date Effective 
  • Track and manage controlled documents as needed in Excel 
  • Assist other departments with document preparation in Word as needed including, but not limited to: formatting headers and footers, verifying fonts and numbering sequences, correcting spelling errors and punctuation, etc 
  • Perform Audits of working copy stations and areas to ensure compliance with latest procedures 
  • Assist with the preparation of Batch Records as demanded by production schedule 


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Minimum of 2 year Associate of Art Degree or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 1 year in the pharmaceutical industry preferred.
  • Clerical experience is preferred (typing, filing, and the ability to use a variety of office software)
  • Advanced computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite –Word and Excel)
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Specific expertise, skills and knowledge within document control gained through education and experience.
  • The ability and willingness to change direction and focus to meet shifting organizational and business demands.
  • The ability to create and contribute to an environment that values people, encourages trust, teamwork, and open communication, and provides participation, learning, feedback and recognition.
