Environmental Monitoring Technician (Night Shift)

Department: Microbiology Environmental Monitoring
Location: West Columbia, SC

 Microbiology Environmental Monitoring Technician

 Position Summary

  • Assure monitoring control of air quality, environmental and personnel in production and personnel in production and microbiology department.
  • Assists with additional work duties or responsibilities as evident or required.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or apparent. 

 

Primary Accountabilities:

will be documented in the incumbents’ performance objectives as outlined by the incumbents’ immediate supervisor or manager.

  • Collect, enter, analyze and report Air Quality counts.
  • Perform air pressure, temperature and humidity monitoring and air velocity measurements.
  • Perform environmental and personnel monitoring testing in the production and microbiology areas.
  • Trend data and provide reports on a weekly basis.
  • Troubleshoot excursions, action levels and NCR/s. Inform supervisor or senior tech of any problems that occurs on your shift.
  • Assist management on special projects. Assist in collecting information for non conformance reports and deviations if needed.
  • Collect water samples in accordance with procedures.

 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • High School Diploma minimum. Associate of Science degree preferred.
  • Three years experience in pharmaceutical industry or clinical background with CGMP preferred.
  • Flexible and open to receive and provide training in other areas and accept new changes in order to achieve department demands. Must have strong organizational skills and be able to manage multiple projects or assignments at one time.
  • Non-viable particulate counter, Velometer, Hygrometer, Viable air sampler, Aseptic gowning experience.
  • Specific expertise, skills and knowledge within microbiology gained through education and experience.
  • A broad perspective that aligns decisions to organizational objectives and long term consequences of day-to-day activities.
  • The ability to take strategic objectives and accept accountability to drive results through effective actions.
  • The ability and willingness to change direction and focus to meet shifting organizational and business demands.
  • The ability to effectively manage one self, demonstrates integrity, be productive under pressure, and achieve development goals.
  • Salary range: Based on experience
  • Hours of Work: 12 hour rotating shift
