Clean Room Technician (Night Shift)

Department: Clean Team
Location: West Columbia, SC

CLEAN ROOM TECHNICIAN

Position Summary:

  • Oversees the sanitizing of the “clean rooms”, formulation, manufacturing and microbiology to ensure the pharmaceutical products meet quality and productivity requirements along with cGMP and OSHA regulations.
  • Assists with additional work duties or responsibilities as evident or required.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or apparent.

Primary Accountabilities:

  • Cleaning and sanitizing of classified areas per approved procedures
  • Re-stock clean room supplies daily
  • Prepare Sanitation Solutions daily
  • Perform administrative duties daily
  • Clean and sanitize production floors daily

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent.   
  • Prefer previous experience working in a clean room/sterile environment,  fully gowned
  • Knowledge of aseptic techniques – gowning certification preferred
  • Be able to demonstrate a general knowledge of sanitization and sterilization practices to support production operations
  • Previous experience working in an FDA or federally regulated manufacturing facility
  • Knowledge of cGMP and good documentation practices preferred
  • Previous manufacturing / production work experience preferred   
  • Gowning Certification preferred.
  • Detail oriented and ability to work independently or as a team.  
  • Previous sanitizing experience of sterile environment preferred  
  • Incumbent must be able to work 12 hour days without fatigue. 
  • Ability to climb ladders. 
  • Position requires performing tasks that involve strenuous repetitive activities. Incumbents must have excellent stamina. 
  • Incumbents are required to perform full range of motion in fingers, wrists, elbows and shoulders.
  • The ability and willingness to change direction and focus to meet shifting organizational and business demands.  
  • The ability to create and contribute to an environment that values people, encourages trust, teamwork, and open communication, and provides participation, learning, feedback and recognition.

  • The ability to manage a multitude of resources and to be accurate, organized and current with data and information. 
  • Position requires, bending, lifting (up to 20 lbs.), reaching overhead for extended periods of time, visual acuity, and standing, sitting and walking.
  • Incumbents are required to wear safety glasses/face shields, hearing protection, bouffant, respirator, tyvex coveralls and other non-specified protective equipment as necessary for extended periods of time.
